Layers and masks are two of the basic fundamentals to understand if you want to have a good working knowledge of Photoshop CC. Understanding how to work with layers to stack, blend, and mask your photos will give you almost everything you need to do both basic and advanced editing. That’s why I put together a brand-new training product: Layers and Masks.

Layers and masks in Photoshop CC

But Photoshop is confusing … right?

I can remember when I first started using Photoshop. I’d open up the program and be overwhelmed by panels, tools, and menu items. But that was before I understood the basics of layers and masks. Once that veil was lifted, my editing potential skyrocketed! I finally understood how to create better edits in my photographs. Photoshop was no longer confusing, and all it took was a few hours of my time!

If you think that Photoshop is confusing, I totally get it. I was there once, too! But I’m here to tell you that it can be learned by anyone who can put in a little bit of learning to solidify a few simple basics (such as how to use layers and masks), and once you have those down, the rest falls into place so easily.

Learning layers and Masks in Photoshop CC

This training program starts by going through the basics of working with layers and blending, and then moves on to creating selections and masks. You’ll learn how to do the following:

  • Discover my two methods to edit a landscape photograph using luminosity masks
  • Learn how I create selections of hair with a simple and straightforward formula
  • Use Photoshop to do all of the work (without a plugin!)
  • Add beautiful textures to your photographs
  • Blend your photos together seamlessly
  • Remove the confusion around masking and layers

The bottom line is if you’ve been struggling in Photoshop, NOW is the perfect time to take yourself to the next level and finally understand Photoshop!
