I was looking for a resource that would get me up to speed with the basics of Luminar quickly and provide me a foundation understand the powerful features of this first-class image processing software and Nicole Young’s "Luminar: Step By Step" is it. I’ve been using Lightroom since it was a beta and Photoshop before that but I found Luminar different enough that I was sometimes frustrated when I tried using it. Nicole’s well organized book and clear examples got me up to speed quickly. The videos that came with the book are first class and very useful. **Highly Recommended**

Luminar can make many improvements to photo images, but you need a helping hand. Nicole's Step by Step guide provides this at a five star level. Beautifully illustrated and with clear instructions for each stage the mysteries of Luminar are revealed. Screen shots of menus and content links to pages make this an easy and time saving guide. I am new to post-processing. I have been using Luminar on my own photos to a limited degree with good results. Nicolesy's book is great to dive deeper into this complex software. I read the book and now need to work with it as I read it through again. I need more help though on things such as the Curves filter, Masking and Dodge and Burn such as how they work and additional ideas for their use. However, since these things are common to post-processing, maybe all I need is more background to the process. Overall, the book is helpful. I hope Luminar soon implements all the Mac commands into the Windows version as well as the promised DAM tool.

If I had this book a year ago it would have taken 9 months off the learning curve. Nicole has excellent communication skills therefore the info contained in the book is clearly articulated. This is a must have for anyone new to Luminar so do your self a favour and buy it. I can't recommend it highly enough-as a bonus the PDF is available in landscape or portrait format, meaning if you have a wide screen monitor you can spread the text in horizontal so the whole text makes for easy viewing. Another good thing is that Nicole allows for multiple downloads of her Luminar2018 ebook so how good is that. At this point I would like to say that Nicole is very approachable to any queries you might have whether about her book or any general photographic issues. Go buy it-I would give this ebook a 10/10. Nicole you have done us all a great favour, thank you.

There are a lot of "special training offers" available. I don't do many. However, if it's from Nicolesy, I have confidence in her work and professionalism. Earlier, I had taken her free course on the introduction to Luminar and it was straightforward and full of great information. I haven't gone through the entire training for Luminar: Step-by-Step, but have started and it's the same quality. Even before she released the course, it was updated to reflect the most recent updates from Sylum as it pertained to those of us using Windows-based platforms. There is little hype with Nicolesy's materials, and that is so appreciated...and lets the work speak for itself.

I am only about 1/4 of the way through Luminar step by step, but I know I like it and it will help me to navigate my way through the software. Nicole takes it step by step, just like the title says. You can read the ebook, stop and go to the program and try the things she is explaining, then go back to the ebook and continue. Just like Lightroom 2 Minutes, this book is very understandable and it seems like Nicole is working right along with you. I highly recommend any of Nicole's work.

I began using Luminar about three months ago on the recommendation of my camera group. They had arranged a discount so it seemed a good deal and not one to miss. Away I went, using Luminar was really easy, it did not frighten me like PS or LR. However, I was only scratching the surface of what it was capable of. The ebook was a godsend! I am able to use it, follow the simple layout of instructions and guidance to now fully start to use Luminar properly, or should that be fully. The book is well written, practical to use and non threatening. It gives clear support and is user friendly. If you have Luminar you need to get this, it will add a lot to what you can do.
