How do I use the borders?

These borders can be added to your photo simply by adding it on a layer above, or by importing the borders into your software and using them with the associated filter (for example, the “Manage Extras/Borders” area in ON1 Photo RAW). Instructions are included with your purchase that demonstrates how to use these borders in Photoshop, Lightroom, ON1 Photo RAW, and Luminar.

What software do these borders work with?

These borders work with any layer-based software application that lets you add layers or texture overlays to your image. The files are transparent, so they will reveal your photo below your image once it is overlayed on an above layer.

Some of the applications you can use include Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Affinity Photo, Luminar, ON1 Photo RAW, and even Lightroom!

What file types come with my purchase?

Your download includes transparent PNG files (8000px on the longest edge) that can be used in nearly all photography applications that work with layers.

Also, if you use Photoshop, the PSD files with easy-to-use frames allow you to drag and drop your photo to the document to apply a border quickly. The PSD files also include the border as a vector image, allowing you to resize the document to any resolution without losing quality in the border.

There are also EPS files (vector files) that allow you to use the borders on any image size with no pixelation. These files work in Photoshop, Affinity Photo, and any application that works with EPS files.

All file types also include both Horizontal and Vertical formats for easy application.

Can I change the color of the borders?

Yes! By default, all borders and black-and-white, and some include white along the edges as well. However, you can change the color easily in Photoshop using layers and blending modes or layer styles. And, if you’re feeling creative, you can also paint the borders to add even more color!
