Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet Annie Leibovitz at a local book signing in Seattle. She gave a quick talk and read from her new book, Pilgrimage (Amazon link), and answered a few questions from the audience. She is such an amazing photographer, and I also discovered that she’s an extremely warm, genuine and friendly person. I purchased her new book, Pilgrimage, and had it personalized and signed … and I even managed to sneak behind her table and get a photo taken with her.

This was such a great experience, and I’m truly inspired and motivated to get out and create. Thanks, Annie!

The amazing Annie Leibovitz! Just a couple of days ago I watched the PBS program (from a few years ago) with Annie’s shoot of the Queen of England! I don’t think just anyone achieves that status as a photographer. I would have been so excited meeting such a photography icon.

Oh, Nicole, I’m the proud owner of my first DSLR – a Canon 60D! After purchasing your book on the 60D and investing just a few short days of reading and shooting, I can’t believe how experienced I feel. I’ve only had point-and-shoot digital cameras and one decent 35mm film camera before.

I can’t imagine another camera being a better first DSLR camera for a less experienced photographer, such as myself. And thanks to your fantastic book I feel so confident that I’m actually experimenting a lot. I would have probably otherwise been a little intimidated. Your book made my purchase so much more enjoyable!

Move over Annie, there’s a new shooter in town. :0

    I’m loving it!
